Very experienced in Film, TV and ENG sound recording. I used the industry standard HHB Portadat with Time Code for many years, but now use 4 track solid state and hard drive recorders with time code.
I have a useful selection of microphones from the venerable Sennhiser 815 t (mono long shot gun mic) throough a couple of really nice Audio-Technica Stereo shotgun mics (possible 5.1 recording) to a Sony C-75 with Micron and Shure radios, all combined wth Rycote and Lightwave windshields; VDB, Panamic booms and the usual Beyer cans. (Full kit list here.)
For studio work, inside location or live work a 24 track digital hard disk recorder is paired with a Soundcraft Digital mixing desk.
In addition I have stands for plant work, and a large collection of microphones including radio, valve (an ADR delight), dynamic, condenser and boundary; and a few creations of my own. We also have all the necessary multi-cores, xlr leads and connectors to make everything fit together, including some aviation specials.
For post-production all shots are identified, described and usually supplied on DVD in WAV or BWF files a the bit rates and Frequencies you require. 16 0r 24 bits - 44.4, 48, 88.2, 96 or 192 kHz. Other methods of delivery are available.
In post the recorders can download directly to the computer or linked directly to the mixing console.
Original music, from my own musicians, to order; foley and specially created sound effects can also be designed.
Voice overs and ADR can be recorded anywhere there is enough room to set up the gear.
I started my career with Les Penning who engineered for Mike Oldfield and have worked my way through Chapel Lane and other studios to working with; Tori Amos, Jools Holland, Steve Dagget (Lindisfarne), Martin Stephenson ( & The Daintes), Baz Warne (Stranglers), Bap Kennedy (Van Morrisson), John Headly (Sting), Finn McCardle (Style Council), Pete Dodds (Red Box, Lime St Band), Visible Ink TV, (Quack Chat Show) BBC, (Colin Baker - Dr Who) The Tube, BrettGerry Films, God TV (Dir. Rick Brock in the UK. International TV Broadcast.) Various TV, DeadTime, (a horror feature film Dir. Tony Jopia; feat. Terry Christian & Leslie Grantham), and and many more.
I have been at this for 35 years, am extremely flexible, in every way, and still have my own sleeping bag! Please ‘phone 0774 2222 712 for a chat.
